Our Beliefs

Inspiration of the Scriptures:

We believe that the Bible, both Old and New Testaments are the verbally inspired word and divine revelation of God.  Inerrant in the original writings, that it is the supreme and final authority in faith and practice.

Psalms 19:7-11;  Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:16-21

The Triune God:

We believe in one God eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

John 10:30, 14-26, 16:13-15

Jesus Christ: Jesus is the Son of God.  He is co-equal with the Lord God.  He is true God and true man.  Jesus died a substitutionary atonement for mans sins.  All must be "born again", by grace, through personal faith in His shed blood or be lost forever.

Matthew 1:18-25; John 1:1-14; John 3:1-18; Isaiah 53:11

Resurrection and Exaltation of Jesus:

We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, and in His ascension into Heaven.  That He is now at God's right hand as our Mediator and High Priest.

Acts 3:12-16; John 20; Hebrew 9:24

Holy Spirit:  We believe in the personality and deity of the Holy Spirit.  On the Day of Pentecost He came into the world as a Comforter to indwell in all believers.  He instructs, helps and purifies the Body of Christ (believers).  He convicts the world of sin.  He instills us with righteousness and wisdom.  He is the infallible interpreter of the Scriptures.

John 14:16-17;  Acts 2:4;  Romans 8: 26-27

Eternity:  God created people to exist forever.  We will either exist separated from God by our sin or eternally with God through forgiveness and our salvation.  To be separated from God is living in Hell.  To be eternally living with God is eternal life in Heaven.  Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.

John 3:16;  John 14:27;  Revelation 20:15

About our Name:

Our name, Cornerstone of Hope, originated from Scripture, found in Ephesians 2:20-21(niv). "Built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the chief Cornerstone.
In Him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord."
